Supervision

Deepening the Embodied Lens

As a supervisor, I offer a space to explore the subtle, often unspoken dynamics that occur between practitioner and client. My approach is rooted in Embodied Relational Therapy (ERT), focusing on how the "living process" of the work is reflected in the bodies of both people in the room. I work with two primary groups of practitioners: For Psychotherapists & Mental Health Practitioners -Integrating the Body Many practitioners feel a "gap" in their training when it comes to the physical self. You may notice a client’s breath change or a shift in your own physical tension, but feel unsure how to bring that into the therapeutic work safely and effectively. In our supervision, we will: Track the Somatic Counter-transference: Learning to use your own bodily sensations as a diagnostic tool for what is happening in the client’s process. Bridging the Gap: Moving beyond "talking about" the body to working directly with the nervous system and physical contact styles. The Wild and the Held: Learning to trust the spontaneous, "unfolding" intelligence of a session while maintaining a clear ethical and theoretical frame. For Yoga Therapists & Bodyworkers-Holding the Space. When we work deeply with the body, psychological material - grief, trauma, or forgotten memories - inevitably rises to the surface. It can be daunting for a yoga therapist to know how to hold this material without overstepping their role or becoming overwhelmed. I offer supervision to help you: Create a Psychological Container: Developing the skills to "sit with" a client’s emotional release without needing to "fix" it or shut it down. Relational Awareness: Understanding the power dynamics and "projections" that occur in the one-to-one teaching relationship. Professional Boundaries: Gaining clarity on when to stay with the body-process and when to refer a client to more specialized psychological support. My Approach to Supervision My supervision style is non-judgmental and collaborative. Drawing on my years of teaching alongside Nick Totton, I see supervision as a "witnessing" of your work. Together, we look at the "connected in the deep" aspects of your practice, ensuring you feel supported, resourced, and curious in your professional life. The Details Suitability: Individual supervision for psychotherapists, counsellors, yoga therapists, and holistic bodyworkers. Format: Sessions are held for a full hour at my practice in Brighton or via Zoom. Fee: £70 per hour.
